About The Position

The NF Receiving Clerk / Forklift Operator identifies and receives inbound used metals brought in for recycling by the general public. The role weighs material, enters the correct commodity code into the system, and places the material in its proper location. It provides customer service at the retail scale, inspects and identifies material, records customer and product information, and processes transactions for appropriate payment. The employee learns and operates equipment such as forklifts and balers to support recycling operations. The work takes place in a warehouse-type environment that is dusty, dirty, and exposed to weather and other elements. The normal schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position is based in Woodstock, Illinois.

Requirements

Customer service experience is required.
Forklift experience is required.

Nice To Haves

Previous warehouse experience.
Previous metal scrap experience.
Background in non-ferrous and ferrous metals, shredders, supervisory or leadership roles, inventory management, equipment operation, or operations/team lead/manager positions.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt customer service at the retail scale.
Weigh material and properly inspect and identify it.
Enter customer and product information correctly into the system, including the appropriate commodity code.
Complete and process customer transactions to issue appropriate payment.
Place received material in its proper location.
Learn and operate machinery, including forklifts and balers, to support the recycling process.
Perform other duties as assigned.
