About The Position

The Student Program at Nexteer Automotive offers high-potential students meaningful opportunities to apply classroom learning in a professional environment while gaining hands-on experience and valuable industry exposure. This position is for on-site support in a team that manages pre-production manufacturing of systems for future vehicle launches. This position allows for a mix of hands-on and office work. Exposure to part ordering & tracking, logistics, warehouse management, finance & budgeting, manufacturing and interfacing with various IT systems should be expected. Additionally, collecting and processing test data with guidance from our engineering team to assist with the product development is a technical opportunity. This position offers flexible work scheduling to accommodate school requirements.

Requirements

• Candidate must be attending a 2 year college or 4 year university local to Saginaw.
• Candidate must be able to work onsite, in Saginaw, MI
• Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelors in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or IT.
• Candidate must be able to work onsite, 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters
• Up to 40 in the summer
• Must have cumulative 2.7 GPA on 4.0 scale
• Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters
• Candidate must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Assist team with administrative work to ensure all prototype materials are ordered and received on time to support the engineering development projects.
• Enter purchase requisitions and track material delivery to our schedules.
• Coordinating material movement from local plants and warehouses as needed to support build activities.
• Assist manufacturing team with process development and tooling procurement.
• Log, track, summarize and submit development test data to engineering.
