About The Position

WAVY-TV 10/WVBT FOX43 is searching for a dynamic Newsroom Intern who wants to gain experience in a newsroom. This internship includes, but is not limited to, working the assignment desk; assisting producers with writing and prep for newscasts; working with editors to prep newscasts; and working with photographers and reporters in the newsroom and in the field (to include shooting, editing, and prep for the final on-air stories). This is an unpaid/for-credit position for the Fall semester 2026 only. We are looking for someone who has completed journalism courses, understands journalistic integrity, and has a passion for the field. Familiarity with newswriting software, shooting video for news, and working knowledge of video editing software is preferred, but not required. Please include relevant coursework in your resume/application. The successful candidate must have a willingness to learn the inner workings of a local newsroom and how all departments in a TV station work to support each other. Before beginning, the intern must be enrolled in a college degree-granting program and will be required to show proof of enrollment in an internship course within that program.
