NEWSCAST PRODUCER (MORNING) - KBTX
About The Position
KBTX is looking for an innovative morning newscast producer to join our award-winning team. We’re looking for a producer who lives for urgent, impactful coverage of what’s new, now, and next, and excels in breaking news and weather situations. As the Brazos Valley’s dominant #1 news station, you’ll have the largest and latest resources to create a show that resonates with viewers. You’re joining a team of exceptional journalists who are committed to our community and work to make it better, both on and off camera. As a newscast producer, you will oversee a team of journalists from varied backgrounds on a tight deadline, so strong planning and communication skills are a must. You must approach each assignment with a passion for great, human stories, enjoy and remain active on social media, and constantly be competing for the day’s top story. If you have a passion for journalism and a talent for storytelling, this is the job for you. Great writing and a willingness to learn will earn you this position.

Nice To Haves
- At least two years of experience in a TV newsroom
- College degree in broadcast journalism or a related field
- Experience with ENPS, Grass Valley EDIUS, or BitCentral Oasis
Responsibilities
- Researching, writing, and editing daily content for television and web platforms
- Producing a quality, accurate show that resonates with key demographics
- Identifying the day’s most important stories and sourcing materials relevant to your audience
- Working with management and staff to generate stories and content
- Meeting daily deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Planning and timing show to meet ratings goals
