WBZ NewsRadio seeks an experienced news writer/editor to be responsible for gathering and producing morning newscasts with fresh sound and news content. This role involves writing creative and relevant on-air news copy under continual rolling deadlines, establishing relationships with listeners by providing news coverage to targeted demographic audiences, and interviewing newsmakers, selecting short soundbytes and writing around them for broadcast. The position requires adherence to all guidelines, policies, and procedures of the station, iHeartMedia, the FCC, and all other federal, state, and local laws, including policies and procedures regarding indecency and obscenity. The writer/editor will also update social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, etc., and participate in required station Programming, Promotions, and Sales staff meetings and events. Additionally, the role involves verifying facts, producing news content, and editing actualities for broadcast.
