About The Position
People Inc. is seeking a remote editor to update and write timely content for Better Homes & Gardens. As a news update editor, you will pitch and write timely content, working in the CMS to submit copy. Successful candidates for this position will be passionate and knowledgeable about home, food, garden, and other lifestyle content, and have morning availability in the Eastern or Central Time Zone. People Inc. is the largest print and digital publisher in America, reaching millions per month and is focusing its hiring efforts on diversity, equity, and inclusion to build a team that reflects its mission for racial equity.
Requirements
- At least 2 years experience writing or editing home or lifestyle media, preferably for a news publication or magazine
- Comfortable with internet research and creating/tracking Google alerts
- Strong writing and editing skills, with an ability to adopt an established brand voice and adhere to style guidelines
- Comfortable with content management systems
- Detail-oriented and able to work efficiently, independently, and accurately
- Comfortable working remotely
- Access to a smartphone, computer (not a tablet), and a secure internet connection
- Applicants must live in the United States.
Nice To Haves
- Journalism experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Pitch and write timely news content for publication on BHG.com.
- Research and perform revisions, updates, and rewrites to content as needed according to specific project instructions and brand guidelines.
Benefits
- The rate of pay for this role is $25-28/hr.
