About The Position

FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S., including stations in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas and duopolies in 11 DMAs. 18 of these stations are affiliated with the FOX Network. They distribute sports, entertainment, and syndicated content, and collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week, leveraging viewer, distributor, and advertiser demand for FOX Network’s national content. This is a Summer 2026 Paid Internship for News / Streaming at WTTG/WDCA – FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus. The role is for aspiring journalists or content creators passionate about news, streaming, and digital media. Interns will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, innovative newsroom, working alongside producers, reporters, and digital teams, and contributing to content across broadcast and streaming platforms. FOX 5 DC leads the DC, Maryland, and Virginia market across broadcast, streaming, and digital, leveraging the scale of FOX Corporation and FOX Television Stations. Interns will work directly with journalists and various teams in a live newsroom environment, gaining mentorship and exposure to experienced journalists and industry professionals in state-of-the-art studios in downtown Bethesda, MD.

Requirements

• Current college students or recent graduates pursuing journalism, communications, media, or related fields
• Strong interest in broadcast journalism, streaming, and digital storytelling
• Strong writing, communication, and time management skills with attention to detail
• A proactive, eager learner who thrives in a collaborative newsroom environment

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with social media platforms and basic video or editing tools is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily editorial operations, research, and story development (Newsroom Support)
• Write, edit, and publish content for broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms (Content Creation)
• Support producers with segment preparation, scripting, and live or recorded programming (Production Assistance)
• Monitor trends, contribute to social content, and help manage digital updates (Digital & Social Media)
• Observe and assist with reporting, shooting, and production as opportunities arise (Field & Studio Exposure)
• Work professionally under deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment (Collaborative Execution)
