Requirements

• Killer storytelling skills: You know how to weave a narrative that keeps people watching, whether it’s a 30-second breaking update or a long-form feature.
• Multi-platform mindset: You’re as comfortable going live on Instagram as you are on the 6 PM news.
• Relentless curiosity: You’re a natural detective who loves digging for the "why" behind the "what."
• Urgency and accuracy: You thrive under the pressure of a deadline but never sacrifice the facts for speed.
• Collaborative spirit: You’re a team player who works seamlessly with producers, photographers, and the assignment desk to get the job done.
• Adaptability: You can pivot from a hard news investigation to a community feature without missing a beat.
• A solid track record in reporting, a clean driving record, and a degree in journalism or a related field.
• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, broadcasting, or equivalent work experience
• Local travel required
• Two years of general on-air news reporting experience.
• Journalistic skills, editorial judgment with knowledge of editing and photography skills, or equivalent work experience
• Ability to work under pressure, adapt to change, meet deadlines, work well as a team and independently.
• Exceptional communication skills and excellent knowledge of current events

Responsibilities

• Research, pitch, and execute high-impact reporting assignments across all platforms—from the evening news to our 24/7 streaming channels.
• Craft compelling content for web and social media that meets our audience where they are.
• Deliver energetic, authoritative reporting from the field or the studio, with the versatility to step behind the anchor desk when the team needs you.
• Develop and maintain deep connections with news sources to stay ahead of the curve and uncover exclusive enterprise content.
• Propose and produce everything from hard news follow-ups to features and mini-documentaries that showcase your range.
• Represent the station at community events, becoming a trusted face for the families we serve across the state.
