About The Position
KSTU, the Fox affiliate in Salt Lake City, Utah, owned by The E.W. Scripps Company, is seeking a News Photographer who will bring our community's stories to life through visual storytelling. From breaking news to feature stories, you'll use your technical skills and creative eye to capture content that connects with audiences across multiple platforms. Salt Lake City sits in a valley surrounded by the stunning Wasatch Mountains. Requirements
- Proficiency with lighting and computer-based editing
- Proficiency with live microwave truck operation
- Knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics, and libel laws
- Knowledge of and proficiency in posting content to station's websites
- Able to work efficiently under multiple deadlines daily
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company-required insurance limits
Nice To Haves
- Associate's degree in related discipline preferred
- Generally 2+ years of experience in related field preferred
Responsibilities
- Capture and edit visual content for multiple platforms.
- Operate and maintain live equipment including microwave, satellite, and related news-gathering equipment.
- Work in tandem with newsroom personnel to create and develop news stories.
- Work cooperatively with reporter assigned to the story, if one is assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
