About The Position

WECT is seeking a driven and creative photojournalist/videographer to join their award-winning news team. This is a full-time, entry-level-friendly position ideal for someone eager to grow, learn, and build a career in broadcast journalism. The role involves capturing compelling video, conducting interviews, collecting information in the field, editing content for various platforms, and executing live shots.

Requirements

• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a passion for storytelling.
• Strong communication skills on the phone, in the field, and in the edit bay.
• Ability to thrive under deadline pressure, both solo and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in news or video shooting/editing is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Capture compelling video, conduct interviews, and collect information in the field.
• Edit and package content for broadcast, digital, and social platforms.
• Set up and execute live shots that put viewers at the center of breaking news.
• Work independently in the field and as a key contributor to the news team.
