KXII 12 is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic anchor for its #1 morning newscast.

Requirements

  • Ability to anchor every type of story
  • Willingness to book and perform live in-studio interviews
  • Help produce the morning and midday newscasts
  • Write great copy
  • Edit video
  • Occasionally anchor or report from the field
  • Must possess strong writing and information gathering skills
  • Be a quick thinker ready for anything
  • Have strong ad-lib abilities
  • Must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license
  • Commitment to Gray’s drug-free workplace policy

Nice To Haves

  • Prior anchoring and on-air reporting experience
  • College degree in a related field

Responsibilities

  • Anchor weekday morning newscast from 5-9 AM and midday newscast from 12:00-12:30 PM
  • Copy edit and occasionally write scripts for morning and midday newscasts
  • Help produce midday newscast and fill-in anchor as needed
  • Possess great live reporting skills for field anchoring and breaking news
  • Help post digital content (news stories, interview segments, social media, etc.), especially breaking news before 8 AM
  • Appear at various community events that may occur outside normal shift
  • Serve as mentor and teacher to young reporters and producers
