About The Position

Support the New Market Development team through voice of customer (VOC) activities, market research, outbound customer outreach, competitive analysis, and reporting. The role focuses on gathering customer insights, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting business development initiatives within the healthcare and medical device industry. This will be a temporary, Summer internship role.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Life Sciences, or related field
  • 0 – 2 years of experience in a customer outreach and/or research role
  • Strong interest in market research, business development, healthcare, or the medical device industry
  • Comfortable engaging in customer outreach and learning cold-calling techniques
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, and communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Able to work in the headquarters office located in Chicago, IL
  • Able to remain in a stationary position, either sitting or standing, for a prolonged periods of time
  • Able to move about the office to access common equipment such as filing cabinets, copier, printer, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Support Voice of Customer (VOC) initiatives through customer outreach via calls, emails, and surveys to gather market insights
  • Participate in outbound customer calls to assess market interest, customer needs, workflows, and pain points
  • Document customer interactions, feedback, and market findings accurately within trackers and CRM systems
  • Conduct market and competitive research to identify trends, pricing, competitor offerings, and unmet customer needs
  • Compile and present VOC findings, research summaries, and reports for internal stakeholders and leadership
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to support messaging refinement and outreach strategies based on customer feedback
  • Assist with secondary research on emerging markets, customer segments, and industry opportunities
  • Support cross-functional collaboration with product, operations, sales, and marketing teams regarding market evaluations and feedback
  • Monitor competitor activities, positioning, and product developments within target markets
  • Maintain trackers, reports, and performance metrics related to new market development initiatives
  • Support administrative and organizational tasks related to new market projects and customer research activities
