About The Position

The 36-bed Medical Surgical Unit at Davie Medical Center is designed to care for patients with a wide range of medical and surgical needs. The unit supports individuals recovering from illness, injury, or surgery. With access to advanced diagnostic imaging—including X-rays, CT, ultrasound, and MRI—and laboratory studies, the Medical Surgical Unit ensures thorough assessment and ongoing monitoring of patients. The unit contains an interdisciplinary team of Hospitalists, Nurses, Care Coordinators, Physical Therapist, Respiratory Therapist who work closely together to admit stabilized patients who require continued medical management or post-operative care, providing a seamless transition for those brought in by EMS or transferred from surrounding counties. When necessary, patients in the Medical Surgical Unit who require specialized tertiary services are transferred to appropriate centers, guaranteeing high-quality, coordinated care at every step. As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS are required within 12 months of hire
