About The Position

7Ardmore East is an Interventional Cardiology Unit with a mixed level that provides both Intermediate Care (IMC) and Floor level patients with complex cardiovascular needs. This unit is fast-paced and highly specialized, requiring advanced clinical skills and critical thinking. The unit cares for a diverse patient population including Heart Failure Patients, STEMI and Acute Coronary Syndrome patients, Procedural Patients recovering from Electrophysiology (EP) procedures and Cardiac Catheterization (Cath Lab) interventions, and patients requiring Mechanical Circulatory Support. The care level ranges from IMC Level Care with continuous cardiac monitoring and titration of vasoactive medications to Mixed Floor care balancing procedural recovery with chronic cardiac conditions. The environment is challenging and fast-paced with frequent admissions from the Cath and EP labs, rapid changes in patient acuity, and multidisciplinary collaboration. It is also high-tech and innovative, utilizing advanced devices and therapies for critically ill cardiac patients.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS required within 90 days of start date.

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and communication skills.
• Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
