About The Position

The Neonatal Progressive Care Nursery (NPCN) is a step-down unit from the NICU, caring for Level II and III babies. These infants may require care for conditions such as trachs, ostomies, pre-ops, central lines, PIVs, High Flow Nasal Canula, significant enteral feedings, and Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS). The unit is licensed for 32 beds and can expand to 36 beds during peak times. NPCN accepts babies from the newborn nursery, the LCH NICU, and outlying hospitals, often treating similar diagnoses to the NICU. As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. You will use evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and communication skills while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
