This is an application for the upcoming New Graduate RN Residency opportunity at the new Wellstar location in Columbia County, with a start date in late 2026. The RN Resident is expected to successfully complete the 12-month Nurse Residency Program (NRP), designed to facilitate a successful transition into professional practice for new graduate RNs with less than 6 months of experience. Residents will participate in specialty/service line programs and NRP sessions, supported by Unit-Based Leaders, Educators, NRP RN educators, Site Coordinators, and Unit-Based Preceptors. The program includes System Orientation, Core Nursing Onboarding Sessions, Specialty Onboarding Sessions, and monthly NRP sessions. The RN Resident, under supervision, is responsible for providing nursing care in accordance with Wellstar Standards of Care. They are a proactive member of an interprofessional team, viewing families and significant others as engaged care team partners. Practice is guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, Patient Care Delivery Model, evidence-based practice, and research, aligning with the Wellstar Values in Action. RN Residents are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, the Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, and the Code of Ethics Standards for Nurses.
