About The Position

The orientation is designed for new graduate RNs who are looking for an entry-level nursing position. Shifts will vary and may change based on assignment. All new graduate RNs will be automatically enrolled in a one year Nurse Residency Program that is designed to support the transition from academia to professional nursing practice. The program focus is on nursing leadership, quality outcomes, and the professional role.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire.
• CT State RN License eligible

Responsibilities

• Provide nurses with an interest in working in the Emergency Department an opportunity to begin their nursing career and grow their skill set on a Cardiac Telemetry unit on the Bridgeport campus.
• Upon completion of the nurse residency program on the Cardiac Telemetry Unit, and successfully demonstrating competence in practice for 12-18 months, the RN will then transfer to an 8-week accelerated transition program in the Emergency Department.
• Shifts are assigned based on the needs of the hiring unit.
