New Grad Structural Engineer I - Winter/Summer 2027
About The Position
We are seeking 2027 New Grad Structural/Architectural Engineers to join our dynamic team in Los Angeles, CA. Individuals in this position provide technical skill in structural engineering to serve the structural engineering efforts through all phases of HNTB’s building projects, and performs structural engineering tasks such as research for code and project criteria, design calculations, and detailing and design for buildings. Focusing will also include creating analysis models, hand calculations, drawings and performs engineering during all phases of design, including construction administration. Projects include nationally significant and challenging Sports, Aviation, Government, Rail and Transit building structures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architectural or Civil Engineering.
- Revit skills
Nice To Haves
- EIT
- Master's degree in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering with primary focus on structures
- Experience with structural analysis software such as RISA 3d, SAP 2000, ETABS, Enercalc, TEDS
Responsibilities
- Provides structural engineering analysis and design of building structures including sport facilities, airport facilities, transit facilities and more in support of HNTB’s national architectural practice.
- Provides structural engineering analysis and design of framing and foundation systems for steel, concrete, post-tensioned concrete, masonry, and wood building frame systems.
- Performs structural engineering services during the construction phase such as responding to construction questions, review of contractor submittals and construction site observations.
- Prepares design drawings and/or specifications.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
