About The Position

Children’s Minnesota is seeking passionate new graduate Registered Nurses (RNs) to join their Transition to Practice (TTP) Program starting in October 2026. This program is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional nursing practice, focusing on providing family-centered care to infants, children, and adolescents. Participants will engage in a combination of didactic learning and supervised clinical experiences. The program emphasizes accountability for professional nursing practice, including independent and delegated medical functions in collaboration with healthcare teams. Initial orientation will be on day shifts, Monday through Friday, with a transition to the hired shift and schedule based on individual progress and competency goals. Positions will range from 0.6 FTE to 0.9 FTE, with varying shifts depending on the specific role. The program is located at either the Minneapolis or St. Paul campuses and will place new RNs within Med Surg, Critical Care, Emergency Department, Operating Room, Neonatal Care, or Float Team communities.

Requirements

• Graduating from an accredited Associate, BSN/BA or MSN/MA nursing program within 1 year from the start of the TTP cohort.
• Successful completion of MN nursing boards resulting in a MN RN license prior to the start of the program.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Meet health requirements for employment at Children's.
• An interest in working with children and families.
• Resumes must be included for consideration.
• All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of an occupational health assessment, drug screen, background investigation, and compliance with the U.S. Government Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide family-centered nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents, utilizing the nursing process.
• Demonstrate accountability for professional practice, including independent nursing functions.
• Perform delegated medical functions in collaboration with other health team members.
• Transition from academic to the professional nursing environment through didactic and precepted clinical experiences.
• Adapt to hired shift and schedule after initial orientation, based on customized orientation plan and progress toward competency goals.
