Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multispecialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education. The 25-bed 5NE Telemetry Unit at Martin North Hospital supports a diverse population, including those experiencing alcohol withdrawal, dementia, and other medical concerns. As a New Grad RN Resident on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, additional education and advanced positions, such as Assistant Nurse Manager or Nurse Manager. A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM – 7:30AM.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • New graduate or less than one year of RN work experience OR if experienced RN moving from non-inpatient to acute direct care clinical inpatient setting with less than one year of current acute direct patient care RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross – if you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it within one year of hire
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification – if you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
  • Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
  • Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
  • Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
  • Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
  • Document in patients’ medical records.
