Indian River Hospital’s 3 South/3 North Intermediate Cardiac Care/Progressive Care Unit cares for patients that require a higher level of monitoring, including telemetry. Clinical scenarios may include non-invasive ventilation for respiratory stabilization (CPAP/biPAP), invasive ventilation with tracheostomy, or stabilizing patients on a nitroglycerine drip. As a New Grad RN Resident on the team, you will work with fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. This is a great team to be a part of as you will get to learn and enhance your experience with acute patients during every shift. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering your education, committee participation and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills. A caregiver in this position works nights from 6:45PM – 7:15AM, with weekend and holiday requirements.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
  • Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
  • Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
  • Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
  • Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
  • Document in patients’ medical records.
