The 23-bed Neuro Medical Telemetry Unit cares for patients with varying neurological needs. As an RN Resident on the team, you will deliver exceptional care alongside a coach, throughout the patient care journey. This department offers a great environment in which to learn and strengthen your skills in IVs, NGTs, cardiac drops and stroke care, preparing you for a higher level of care in the ICU, CCU or ED. Here, you can experience shared governance, tuition reimbursement and RN opportunities on other units.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
  • Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
  • Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
  • Initiate and/or maintain interventions to assure continuity of safe/effective care for patients.
  • Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
  • Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
  • Document in patients’ medical records.
