About The Position

This downtown Stuart hospital provides top-quality patient care to the communities in and around Martin County on the beautiful St. Lucie River. The caregivers at Martin North Hospital have made it an excellent medical facility and a home away from home. Martin North Hospital’s newly established Med/Surg unit on the 2nd floor of the South Tower is a 12-bed unit that cares for a wide range of patients with a variety of medical issues or who are preparing for or recovering from surgery. As a New Grad RN Resident on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. You will play a vital role at the forefront of patient care—serving as a patient advocate, attentive listener, and provider of essential daily needs. It will be your responsibility to escalate concerns when necessary and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, compassionate care. This role offers tuition reimbursement, preceptorship, shared governance and the ability to take part in the unit practice council. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education, academic advancements and research and quality improvement opportunities, all of which can lead to climbing the professional ladder. A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM – 7:30AM.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • New graduate or less than one year of RN work experience OR experienced RN moving from non-inpatient to acute direct care clinical inpatient setting with less than one year of current acute direct patient care RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
  • Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
  • Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
  • Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
  • Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
  • Document in patients’ medical records.
