About The Position

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a New Grad RN Resident for their General Internal Medicine unit at the Main Campus. This residency program is designed to support newly graduating nurses or those transitioning from other specialties. Residents will work closely with a Success Coach team, who are professional development specialists dedicated to supporting their transition and growth. The G80 Internal Medicine Unit cares for a diverse patient population including internal medicine, telemetry, behavioral health, and patients with various medical conditions. This role offers exposure to multiple specializations, fostering strong assessment skills and clinical knowledge. The position works nights from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
  • Provide direct nursing care alongside a successful coach.
  • Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
  • Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risks.
  • Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
  • Document in patients’ medical records.
