The Nursing Graduate works under the direct line-of-sight supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) in a clinical setting and participates in the patient care delivery process. This role involves orienting to the RN assignment, excluding independent nursing care, and may include medication administration under the direction and supervision of a licensed RN. The Nursing Graduate position is temporary, lasting up to 12 weeks, while employees are enrolled in the Intermountain Nurse Residency program and are preparing for, testing, and passing the State Boards examination to obtain an RN license. If the RN license is not obtained within this 12-week period, or if the State Board exam is failed a second time, the employee cannot remain in this role and must apply for other qualifying open jobs or face termination. Registered Nurse graduates must be enrolled in and have started coursework for the Intermountain Nurse Residency program before providing any direct patient care, even under supervision.
