About The Position

Lakeside 20 is an Age Friendly Unit that participates in ACE (Acute Care of the Elderly) rounds on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Age Friendly health systems focus on how to better the support for the needs of older adults. We see many different patient diagnoses including: liver disease, renal disease, pneumonia, CHF, GI bleed, hemodialysis, COPD, ESRD, asthma, sepsis, falls, placement. This position is at an Academic/Teaching Hospital with a nurse-focused, supportive & education-focused culture. The hospital is Magnet Recognized and offers a Nurse Residency Program to assist in Transition to Practice.

Requirements

Diploma RN, Associate or Bachelor's Degree of Nursing from an accredited program
Current BLS Provider Certification, issued by the American Heart Association, must be obtained during Nursing Orientation.

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
Prior experience on a related unit or specialty in a practicum, internship or STNA/PCNA/NAII is preferred

Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.
