About The Position

The New Grad Progressive Care (Step Down) Registered Nurse delivers nursing care to patients in a unit serving as a link between Med-Surg and ICU. The role assesses patient status, prioritizes problems and needs, develops and carries out care plans to improve outcomes, and helps ensure a safe, therapeutic environment.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), or RN applicant.
• Obtain BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification from an approved source before providing direct patient care.
• Obtain ACLS certification within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred, not required).
• Previous experience as an LPN or Patient Care Technician/CNA.
• BLS or ACLS certification at hire is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments; analyze assessment data; create and implement plans of care; and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
• Coordinate patients’ care across hospital departments and serve as a point of contact for that coordination.
• Advocate for patient safety by participating in ongoing departmental quality improvement.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with state requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
