About The Position
Our Electrical Engineering team supports a diverse portfolio of projects, including major airports and aviation facilities, large roadway tunnels, iconic bridges, light rail systems with stations and tunnel infrastructure, and complex facilities such as maintenance centers, stadiums, and other high-profile buildings that serve our core transportation markets. This is an opportunity to build technical expertise while helping shape the infrastructure that connects communities today and for generations to come. As an Engineer I at HNTB, you’ll support the design and development of infrastructure projects by collaborating with experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams. Your responsibilities will include assisting with research, design efforts, and preparing engineering drawings and documentation to contribute to safe, efficient, and sustainable solutions across transportation and architectural environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Exhibits an understanding of engineering principles relevant to the discipline.
- Attains knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with MicroStation and/or AutoCad or other software.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Computer Engineering
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
- Strong interest in transportation and infrastructure
- Experience with AGI32 lighting analysis software
- Experience with CAD tools: MicroStation, Revit, or AutoCAD
- Previous internship experience within the civil engineering industry
Responsibilities
- Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
- Supports the preparation and modification of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
- Assists in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates.
- Assists engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.
- Supports engineering teams with various tasks and duties including but not limited to research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned
