This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. This role serves as a strategic advisor and operational extension of the Vice President of New Glenn Operations, enabling executive effectiveness while also providing overall site leadership across our Blue Origin Florida locations. The position combines business operations management with hands-on operational leadership, requiring both strategic vision and tactical execution across headcount tracking, business analytics, and rocket park work center operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related technical field
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in aerospace, rocket operations, or related industries
  • 5+ years of experience in project/program management, operations, or strategic roles
  • Proven track record of effective stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
  • Strong analytical abilities and data-driven decision-making experience
  • Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and data presentation

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or Master's degree in relevant field
  • Previous experience in a Chief of Staff role supporting senior leadership
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience
  • Aerospace launch operations experience, particularly in orbital rocket programs
  • Certified as a Six Sigma Blackbelt in Lean Operations

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Advisory & Business Operations Serve as trusted advisor and strategic thought partner to the VP of New Glenn Operations
  • Synthesize data and create executive briefings to support strategic decision-making
  • Manage headcount tracking, budget allocation, and business analytics for the entire organization
  • Drive special projects and cross-functional initiatives on behalf of the VP
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and develop solutions to improve organizational effectiveness
  • Create and maintain program management artifacts to track progress against key objectives
  • Prepare materials for executive reviews, Board meetings, and high-visibility presentations
  • Florida Sites Operational Leadership Lead and drive strategic vision across Blue Origin's Florida site locations, providing direct operational oversight
  • Mentor and develop site personnel using knowledge of strategy, business insights, and organizational structure
  • Aid the Operations team in facilitating effective decision-making on complex rocket operations scenarios
  • Implement critical initiatives that advance overarching organizational objectives across all Florida sites
  • Evaluate organizational barriers to success and develop courses of action to overcome such issues
  • Lead change management activities to evaluate, coordinate, and approve new requirements or changes
  • Communications & Stakeholder Management Facilitate effective communication between the VP and all stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • Coordinate Operations internal communications (announcements, updates, all-hands presentations)
  • Represent the VP in meetings where appropriate and follow up on action items
  • Coordinate with the broader New Glenn program team to ensure operations activities align with program milestones
