About The Position

The New Business Development Manager role will report into the CEO/President and be responsible for identification and assessment of strategic business development opportunities, and lead all activities related to evaluating and negotiating business development transactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing Sciences, or related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in the CDMO industry (sales or related roles) is essential.
  • Strong track record of successful CDMO business development deals is a significant plus.
  • Proven experience in business acquisition and execution within a COMO environment is highly desirable.
  • Deep understanding of CDMO operations and the broader industry landscape.
  • Exceptional knowledge of the medical device, OTC drug, and personal care markets, including their deal-making dynamics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels, including C-suite executives, clients, regulators, and internal teams.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Mindful listener and communicator, adept at navigating a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to analyze data, interpret information, and make sound business decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, internet software, and project management tools.
  • Valid Driver's License and Insurance Coverage.
  • Client relationship management

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • The existing network of industry contacts and positive customer relationships are a strong advantage.
  • Experience in developing and implementing sales force strategies is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and coordinate opportunity assessment, financial justification, due diligence, transaction design, contract negotiation, and completion of deals, including but not limited to strategic partnership, out­ licensing, co-development.
  • Create and execute programs to drive new business acquisitions of targeted and focused new prospective clients.
  • Increase awareness of Swiss American CDMO's service and technology offerings and key differentiators from competition through a multi-faceted approach that includes, but is not limited to, representation at trade shows, internally/externally generated leads, and cultivating an already established network of personal care, medical device and OTC drug companies.
  • Build and maintain a professional network with external companies and KOLs that would require COMO expertise.
  • Prospect personal care and topical medical device companies seeking COMO services to qualify new projects and demonstrate our professional capability as a world-class supplier.
  • Responsible to understand the SA COMO prospect customer requirements so as to best match SA COMO services and products to align with the client's project requirements (looking for round holes for round peg).
  • Remain current on industry and adjacent industry trends and information, new product development, legislation, key coverages and technology.
  • Provide voice-of-customer to internal partners and continuously build sales opinions/positioning to evolve our value proposition to prospects/clients.
  • Provide and seek mentorship, collaboration and coaching with the Research, Innovation, & Development (RID), Client Services and Marketing team members, as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
