About The Position

This position is responsible for the development of new business in the PIDSA Division target vertical markets by strategically promoting and enabling design in of Industrial Automation focus products. Collaboration with the relevant sales teams (including manufacturers sales representatives), product teams and marketing groups will be the key to success. Creation of on-going domestic revenue opportunities is the primary goal.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, business/marketing, or equivalent relevant work experience, degree preferred
  • More than 5 years of experience in hardware engineering, product management or business development roles
  • In-depth knowledge of factory automation sensors, PLCs, servo motors
  • In-depth knowledge of applications within target vertical markets using factory automation equipment
  • Experience working for or selling to major tech firms
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite with a strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience working with Salesforce or other CRM tool.
  • Valid driver’s license; must have or be able to obtain valid passport with no travel restrictions.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities and end customers within designated market sectors
  • Utilize POS (Point of Sale) data, market knowledge, networking, research, and other means to proactively seek out companies and opportunities within market verticals
  • Pursue potential customers using demos, presentations, and other means to generate interest
  • Work with RSM team to efficiently hand off opportunity as it advances toward closure
  • Present appropriate solutions to high opportunity customers
  • Technical overviews on technology, manufacturing, and logistics.
  • With co-workers collaboration, search and determines appropriate product or technology for target customer.
  • With selected product and technology, make proposition or business idea to create customer value.
  • Research market verticals
  • Become a market expert within the packaging and warehouse automation verticals, acting as a technical advisor to the group
  • Utilize contacts and in-depth, advanced technical knowledge of Panasonic product and market knowledge to exploit advantages of Panasonic products.
  • Obtain information on technical trends and provide feedback to the company.
  • Attend trade shows, workshops or seminars to maintain expertise level
  • Analyze market trends and size, competition, and technology.
  • Development of Business Plan including but not limited to sales strategies, business metrics, relationship plans, and KSF (Key Success Factor).
  • Maintain technical and business documentation and communication
  • Document customer activity on call reports as required.
  • Write activity reports and distribute as required.
  • Operate effectively in a complex organization. Gain the support of sponsors, champions, and other stakeholders to achieve objectives.
  • Lead scheduled conference calls, meetings and follow-ups with Japan, local staff, customers, and the sales group.
  • Collaborate with management, peers, colleagues, business units and other stakeholders.
  • Represent Panasonic values in a professional and competent manner internally and when working with customers, partners, conferences, and other internal and external interactions.
  • Exercise financial responsibility in terms of travel and other expenditures
