About The Position

The New Accounts Representative (NAR) plays a vital role in customer interaction, requiring strong verbal and interpersonal skills to effectively and tactfully engage with all types of customers. The NAR must embody honesty, fairness, a high energy level, a positive outlook, and integrity in all dealings. A professional appearance, adhering to the Company dress code, is expected. This position has a major emphasis on New Accounts Representative duties, with customer service and back-up Teller duties as needed. The role will also assist with Loan Processing duties as required.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with 10 key touch
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Ability to learn banking software applications (Bankpac, Document Management, Deluxe Order Pro)
  • Ability to work flexible or extended working hours to meet bank needs
  • Demonstrate good attendance and punctuality
  • Customer service skill with effective problem solving abilities
  • Ability to maintain composure and convey a positive attitude while interacting with customers and internal workers
  • Outstanding listening and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to quickly learn banking products (checking, savings, certificate of deposit, IRAs, and safe deposit box regulations)
  • Quickly learn policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines for compliance and job duties
  • Must be self-motivated, goal oriented and a team player
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast pace work environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to read, process, and understand a variety of customer request accurately and efficiently in compliance with Bank policy, procedure
  • Expected to be aware of risk within their area
  • Observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and risk limits specific to job role
  • Ability to recognize violations and report to the appropriate department authority in a timely fashion
  • Must be able to quickly learn and understand legal documents related to various accounts such as POA’s and Trust Documents
  • 1-3 years customer service or banking experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Knowledge of banking software applications (Bankpac, Document Document, Deluxe Order Pro)
  • Knowledge of banking products (checking, savings, certificate of deposit, IRAs, and safe deposit box regulations.)

Responsibilities

  • Greet Customers
  • Open Various Bank Accounts as well as Safe Deposit Box
  • Process transactions related to IRA’s, CD’s, and other banking accounts
  • Issue Debit Cards
  • Review/audit department work
  • Balance credit card cash advances
  • Process check orders
  • Review imaged paperwork from Account Folio
  • Inventory department supplies
  • Responsible for general mail and overnight mail logs
  • Inventory and audit official check and money order stock supply
  • Balance Safe Deposit Boxes, Negotiable Collateral, Metro Advantage Report and IOLTA report
  • Assist with review and completion of annual IRA Required Minimum Distributions and various related Tax forms
  • Assist with Annual mailing of Safe Deposit Box Statements, logging payments etc.
