About The Position
Sentara Healthcare, an award-winning, nationally recognized, non-profit, integrated healthcare system, is expanding its neuroscience department. We are recruiting a Director of Neurosurgery to lead our expansion on the Virginia Peninsula, covering Williamsburg, VA, and Hampton, VA. This is a high-volume, employed practice opportunity within Sentara Medical Group, a multispecialty group of over 1,500 providers in Coastal Virginia. Our system includes 12 hospitals, including a level 1 trauma center which is the site for Eastern Virginia Medical School and was named #1 Hospital in Virginia. The neurosurgery team is experienced and includes fellowship training in Endovascular Neurosurgery, Functional Neurosurgery, Neuro Oncology, and Minimally Invasive Spine Neurosurgery. Visa sponsorship is available.
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery.
- Fellowship training in Endovascular Neurosurgery, Functional Neurosurgery, Neuro Oncology, or Minimally Invasive Spine Neurosurgery is preferred.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in Virginia.
- DEA license or eligible for DEA license.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a leadership role.
- Experience with Stealth O-arm and Biplane technology.
Responsibilities
- Lead the expansion of the neuroscience department on the Virginia Peninsula.
- Cover Williamsburg, VA and Hampton, VA.
- Participate in neurosurgery call 6 times a month with APP support.
- Provide high-volume, employed practice care.
- Collaborate with a team of 8 neurosurgeons.
