About The Position

BayCare Medical Group (BMG) is seeking three Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Night Floats to join their well-established Adult & Pediatric Neurosurgical team at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida. This is a high-volume, high-acuity specialty within a Level II trauma hospital. The current team includes four Board-Certified Neurosurgeons and three advanced practice providers. This role focuses on inpatient neurosurgery coverage, including new consults, admissions, and cross-coverage during overnight shifts. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented, adaptable, compassionate, and eager to grow within the field of neurosurgery.

Requirements

Experience in an acute care setting.
Required experience in neurosurgery.
Acute Care certification.
DEA required or ability to obtain.
Passion for learning and strong interest in working in neurosurgery.
Board certified.
Ability to obtain a Florida license.

Responsibilities

Provide overnight support for neurosurgical patients, including new consults and admissions.
Perform cross-coverage duties for neurosurgical patients.
Collaborate with on-call neurosurgeons for timely evaluation and management of acute patient needs.
Assist with inpatient care coordination and continuity of care during transitions.
Participate in weekend coverage as part of the night float rotation.
Function as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
