About The Position

We are seeking a Neurosurgeon for a Locum Tenens position in Eureka, CA. This role involves both inpatient and outpatient services, with a focus on general neurosurgery, spinal surgery, and placement of ICP monitors for adult patients. The position requires coverage for specific periods from November 2026 onwards, including weekdays and on-call duties. The facility is a Level III Trauma Center with 12 ICU beds and support staff including an APP and MA. EMR system used is Epic.

Requirements

• Active CA License
• Board Certified (BC)
• FLURO license
• Experience in General Neurosurgery, Spinal Surgery, and ICP monitor placement.
• Ability to manage adult patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Willingness to cover clinical duties and on-call responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Epic EMR system.

Responsibilities

• Perform General Neurosurgery for adults and trauma patients.
• Conduct Spinal Surgery with and without instrumentation.
• Perform placement of ICP monitors.
• Provide coverage for inpatient and outpatient services.
• Participate in weekday shifts (Mon-Fri; 8:30a-5p).
• Provide on-call coverage for nights (5p-8:30a) and weekends (24-hr call).
• Respond to beeper calls within 20-30 minutes.
