About The Position

Beacon Biosignals is seeking an experienced neuroscientist/data scientist to serve as a scientific partner to Life Sciences customers. The role works directly with pharmaceutical and biotechnology teams to analyze clinical-trial data and derive meaningful insights using Beacon devices and AI/ML models. Embedded in active client engagements, the Neuroscientist translates complex neural data into scientifically rigorous, decision-relevant results that support drug-development programs across neurological, psychiatric, and sleep disorders. As part of Beacon’s scientific team, the role designs and executes analyses on clinical-trial and real-world EEG data using statistical, computational, and neuroscientific expertise. It collaborates with customer scientists, clinicians, and program leaders; leads scientific discussions; presents results; and adapts analyses as studies evolve. The role also connects customers with Beacon’s internal teams, using customer goals, constraints, and feedback to shape analytical approaches and inform product and model development. The position supports multiple concurrent studies, contributes to statistical analysis plans and scientific reports, develops and reviews documented reusable code, and prepares presentations and data visualizations for varied audiences. It also involves examining, documenting, and harmonizing large, unfamiliar datasets with Beacon’s Datastore. Beacon supports asynchronous remote work and has office hubs in Boston, New York City, and Paris. Candidates based in Boston or the surrounding area are preferred to support timezone overlap and in-person client connections. The base salary range is $135,000–$183,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. Total compensation also includes equity, PTO, and other benefits.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills.
  • Experience writing and reviewing code in a shared, version-controlled codebase with multiple contributors and users.
  • Understanding that thoughtful data curation is essential to robust analytical results.
  • Familiarity with statistical modeling, including interpretation and diagnostics.
  • Ability to collaborate closely, communicate openly, and maintain effective feedback loops with a team.
  • Ability to stay calm and organized while meeting tight deadlines amid ambiguity.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high standard of quality, with judgment about when a quick-and-dirty approach is appropriate.
