About The Position

The Neurology Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, patient-centered care within an acute care neuroscience environment. The RN collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans while promoting optimal neurological outcomes, patient safety, and compassionate care delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of recent Acute Care RN experience required
  • Experience must be within the last 2 years
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or RN Diploma required
  • Active Florida RN license or compact RN license required
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of employment start date

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Neurology or neuroscience nursing experience preferred
  • Stroke or neurological patient care experience preferred
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity acute care environment

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient conditions during admission and throughout scheduled shifts
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
  • Deliver direct bedside care for neurological and acute care patients
  • Administer medications and monitor patient responses
  • Perform treatments, procedures, and patient monitoring as ordered
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Ensure patient safety and adherence to nursing standards
  • Manage patient assignments in a fast-paced acute care setting
  • Educate patients and families regarding neurological conditions, medications, and discharge planning
  • Provide clear and compassionate patient communication
  • Advocate for patient-centered care and positive patient experiences
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Follow hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and safety protocols
  • Participate in quality improvement and ongoing education initiatives
  • Support departmental goals focused on patient outcomes and operational excellence
