About The Position

The Neurologist provides comprehensive, evidence-based neurological care to adult patients across both inpatient and outpatient settings. The physician evaluates, diagnoses, and treats disorders of the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, muscles, and neuromuscular system while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care. The Neurologist may practice in a combination of ambulatory clinics, hospital consultation services, emergency department consultation, and inpatient neurological care based on organizational needs, physician expertise, and departmental scheduling.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited Neurology Residency Program.
  • Current unrestricted state medical license.
  • DEA registration.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology.
  • BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Fellowship training in a neurological subspecialty is preferred but not required.
  • ACLS

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic neurological disorders.
  • Perform comprehensive neurological examinations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based medicine.
  • Manage conditions including but not limited to: Headaches and migraines, Epilepsy and seizure disorders, Parkinson's disease and movement disorders, Multiple sclerosis, Dementia and cognitive disorders, Peripheral neuropathy, Neuromuscular disorders, Tremor disorders, Dizziness and balance disorders, Sleep disorders with neurological manifestations, Stroke and TIA follow-up, and other neurological conditions within scope of practice.
  • Order, interpret, and integrate diagnostic studies, including MRI, CT, EEG, EMG/NCS, laboratory testing, and other neurological diagnostic procedures.
  • Perform office-based neurological procedures consistent with training, credentialing, and organizational privileges, which may include: Electromyography (EMG) and Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS), Botulinum toxin (Botox) injections for chronic migraine, dystonia, spasticity, hemifacial spasm, and other approved neurological indications, Occipital nerve blocks and other headache management procedures, Trigger point injections, when appropriate, Lumbar punctures, when indicated and credentialed.
  • Evaluate patients for advanced neurological therapies and coordinate treatment, including infusion therapies and disease-modifying medications, when appropriate.
