About The Position

The purpose of this position is to advance a rehabilitation Clinical Program across the rehabilitation environment, specific network (outpatient, acute, or home care), and assist in linking services across the rehabilitation continuum. This position will be responsible for the clinical quality in the designed program and assist rehabilitation management with customer satisfaction results, quality of work life, and financial performance of the rehabilitation clinical program. Examples of rehabilitation clinical programs can include neurological, aquatic, women's health, vestibular, spine, foot & ankle, hand, oncology, industrial, cardiology, orthopedics, trauma, and critical care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • Clinical experience and course work related to rehabilitation sub-specialty.
  • The ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies.
  • Excellent written, oral and electronic communication skills.
  • Dedicated clinician development and coaching ability.
  • Preparation for and participation in Strategic Planning.
  • Experience in dealing with an ability to teach others how to collaborate with medical advisors and physician partners accessing rehabilitation services.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and treats rehabilitation patients, mainly within specialty, per staff therapist job description.
  • Follows staff therapist job description for direct and indirect patient care.
  • Develops and shares key clinical protocols; mentors' clinicians and/or student clinicians.
  • Serves as direct contact person for associates, physicians, administrators and the community related to the rehabilitation clinical program.
  • Provides organizational clinical focused communication to each rehabilitation site and to other OhioHealth entities related to clinical program.
  • Monitors program requirements related to clinical program.
  • Provides best practice and assists management with quality/safety initiatives related to sub-specialty.
  • Acts as sub-committee chair for Quality Management process (peer review).
  • Develops, analyzes, manages, and improves Quality Outcomes within clinical program (i.e., data analysis for FOTO results within subspecialty).
  • Mentorship (treatment with a clinician) and coaching at minimal bi-monthly or for clinicians involved in the program.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of clinical competencies and clinical protocols.
  • Develops and organizes continuing education for the specialty.
  • Develops relationships with at least one key physician partner/sponsor.
  • Interfaces with Physicians and Payers to develop and grow rehabilitation sub-specialty.
  • Contributes to clinical publication, present at non-OhioHealth entities, assists in or conducts research in area of specialty and participates in the residency program if offered.
  • Assists leadership with strategic planning and implementation in clinical program.
  • Actively is involved in marketing the sub-specialty program.
  • Educates rehabilitation leadership on mandatory regulations related to clinical program.
  • Assists leadership with monitoring of patient satisfaction within dedicated program.
  • Attends Rehabilitation Leadership Meetings and provides program updates to leadership team bi-annually.
  • Researches, develops best practice standards, authors, and assists leadership with implementation of new programs/standards within specialty.
  • Conducts at least two meetings/conference calls per year amongst clinical coordinators to promote best practice /idea sharing.
  • The associate is expected to perform all other duties as requested by management.
  • As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties.
