About The Position

Allina Health's Neurointerventional Radiology department is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our team. This role will be responsible for supporting the physicians with hospital rounding and clinic appointments at our Abbott Northwestern, United Hospital, and Mercy Hospital locations. The person filling this role must be comfortable with working at all three sites. Average of 8 - 10 patients per day. Schedule options: 4 10-hour shifts or 5 8-hour shifts per week.

Requirements

  • Master's degree - Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • 1+ years' experience as an Advanced Practice Provider
  • Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner - American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification within specialty required upon hire
  • ACLS-BLS Tier 2 - Multisource required within 180 Days
  • Drug Enforcement Administration required upon hire
  • Valid Driver’s License required upon hire - MN and WI residents must obtain a valid driver’s license in their state of residence within 60 days of employment for those working in Complex Care for Seniors, Community Palliative Care and Hospice

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Neurointerventional Radiology, Neurosurgery, or Neurology preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical care for patients
  • Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
  • Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.
  • Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
  • Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
  • Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
  • Refers for specialty care when determined.
  • Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Nurse Practitioner scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
  • Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.
  • Acts as resource to members of the team.
  • Works with primary care team for program development.
  • Acts as liaison with outside agencies as needed.
  • Collaborates with hospital staff by consulting and rounding on patients if designated by the specialty.
  • Other duties as assigned.
