About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This role performs EMG nerve conduction testing studies and EEG studies (brain wave studies) and will work with a wide range of patient population from Neonate (newborns) up to nursing home patients. Neurodiagnostic Technologists are an integral part of the team of medical practitioners providing care to our patients. The successful candidate will be compassionate, patient, and problem-solving. The role may perform intraoperative monitoring, evoked potentials, nerve conduction, and/or electroencephalography (EEG) testing for all patient populations. Understanding the testing equipment, including its structure, indications for use, physiological effect upon the patient, and basic maintenance procedures is essential. A working knowledge of disease and pathological conditions encountered is also necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
  • Completion of department approved training program is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduated from an approved program of Electroneurodiagnostic Technology (ENDT) or similar education is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, basic electronics and electrical safety, general knowledge of electroencephalography (EEG) and evoked potentials (EP) instrumentation, pattern recognition, and various medical and pharmacological conditions is preferred.
  • Experience in area of specialty or applicable health care experience is preferred.
