The CNP Technologist role is part of our multi-skilled Neurodiagnostic team, performing procedures including Electroencephalography (EEG), Evoked Potentials, Autonomic Testing, and/or Nerve Conduction Studies. For MEG, this would include but not limited to independent MEG data acquisition, digitizing and co-registering MEG data with MRI images for accurate location of epileptic or functional brain activity, and preparing initial interpretation and analysis of findings for physician review. Evoked Potential knowledge required.

Requirements

  • Tech I: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Tech I: Graduate of an accredited institution for neurodiagnostic technology or 2 years equivalent neurodiagnostic tech experience.
  • Tech I: Within two years of employment, specific certification through ABRET - Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation (R. EEG T., R. EP T., CNIM, CLTM and CAP); Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM; CNCT) and/or AAET - The Nerve Conduction Association (R.NCS.T.) is required in the laboratory of hire. The Registry Examination should be attempted as soon as the employee is eligible.
  • Tech I: Current certification in Basic Life Support.
  • Tech II: High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of Neurodiagnostics experience.
  • Tech II: Must be a current Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist to apply. Registries include specific certification through ABRET – Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation (R. EEG T., R. EP T., CNIM, CLTM and CAP); American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM; CNCT) and/or AAET - The Nerve Conduction Association (R.NCS.T.).
  • Tech II: Current certification in Basic Life Support.
  • Tech III: High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of Neurodiagnostics experience.
  • Tech III: Must be a current Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist and have two of the following registries or meet qualifications outlined below for one registry. Registries include specific certification through ABRET - Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation (R. EEG T., R. EP T., CNIM, CLTM and CAP). American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM; CNCT) and/or AAET - The Nerve Conduction Association (R.NCS.T.).
  • Tech III: One registry and: Minimum five years neurodiagnostic inpatient experience OR Minimum ten years neurodiagnostic experience (outpatient and/or inpatient) OR Hired into this job description prior to 2002.
  • Tech III: Current certification in Basic Life Support.

Nice To Haves

  • Tech I: Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Tech II: Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Tech III: Associate’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform procedures including Electroencephalography (EEG), Evoked Potentials, Autonomic Testing, and/or Nerve Conduction Studies.
  • Ensure exceptional patient preparation, accurate data acquisition, and a safe, high-quality testing environment.
  • Independent MEG data acquisition, digitizing and co-registering MEG data with MRI images for accurate location of epileptic or functional brain activity, and preparing initial interpretation and analysis of findings for physician review.
  • Demonstrates complete and accurate patient preparation and data acquisition while maintaining a safe testing environment.
  • Shows proven ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret information appropriately for age specific needs.
  • Demonstrates above average leadership abilities, including strong verbal and written communication skills, effective problem solving, and strong organizational capabilities.
  • Works autonomously, applying critical thinking skills and maintaining a strong commitment to quality.
  • Shows the ability to work independently with proficiency in troubleshooting.
  • Able to adapt effectively to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
  • Develops and delivers training and education support for learners in the laboratory.
  • Proactively identifies improvement opportunities within routine processes and serves as a proponent and change agent for more efficient operations.
  • Exhibits a high level of laboratory specific technical expertise and serves as a mentor, sharing knowledge and supporting staff development.
  • Serve as a resource for staff on technical issues.

  • Sign on bonus available: Two years' experience + certification = $20,000
  • Less than two years' experience + certification, evening shift = $15,000
  • Less than two years' experience + certification, day shift = $10,000
  • Non-certification = $5,000
