The schedule is Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 5:00 pm with rotating on-call coverage. The Neurodiagnostic Technologist helps set up monitoring equipment while assuring patient safety, communicates effectively with team members, and performs routine testing under supervision, writing a descriptive technical analysis. They also have hospital training to alert supervisors or activate hospital systems for patient clinical issues, exhibit critical thinking skills, and assist in developing and monitoring departmental policies and procedures. The role involves recognizing and communicating changes, performing routine and advanced testing, recognizing clinically significant events and patterns, and providing teaching and training for other technologists. Additionally, the technologist will be able to apply electrodes and obtain high-quality waveforms independently, troubleshoot common problems in IONM recordings, and follow policies regarding critical test results. The position works under general technical supervision and the supervision of an interpreting physician provider.
