About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This role is responsible for performing procedures or testing for all patient populations. The technologist will understand testing equipment, apply anatomy and physiology principles to procedures, and have working knowledge of diseases and pathological conditions. Specific duties may include intraoperative monitoring, evoked potentials, nerve conduction studies, and EEG testing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
  • Working knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, basic electronics and electrical safety, general knowledge of electroencephalography (EEG) and evoked potentials (EP) instrumentation, pattern recognition, and various medical and pharmacological conditions is required.
  • Completion of department approved training program is required.
  • Required credentials of one or more of the followings: Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (REEGT), Registered Evoked Potentials Technologist (REPT), Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist (CNCT), or Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologists (R.NCS.T).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduated from an approved program of Electroneurodiagnostic Technology (ENDT) or similar education is preferred.
  • Experience in area of specialty or applicable health care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performing procedures or testing for all patient populations.
  • Understanding testing equipment: structure, function, use, effects on patients, and maintenance.
  • Applying anatomy and physiology principles (normal and abnormal) to procedures.
  • Having working knowledge of diseases and pathological conditions.
  • Performing Intraoperative monitoring.
  • Performing Evoked potentials.
  • Performing Nerve conduction studies.
  • Performing EEG testing.
