About The Position

Under administrative direction, obtains electroencephalographic tracings and measurements of brain function with a maximum understanding of the patient’s pathological condition and physical characteristics to optimize the examination for both EEG and multimodality evoked potential testing. Provides appropriate clinical and technical information to the physician to facilitate accurate interpretation. Provides testing to all patient populations, including children, newborns through adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Performs job tasks in the Ambulatory Care Center as well as the inpatient acute care setting.

Requirements

  • Completion of an AMA approved course of study in electroencephalography.
  • Certification as a Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist or eligible for registry.
  • BCLS certification required.
  • Ability to convey effective verbal and written information.
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations appropriately.
  • Ability to relate positively with and reassure patients.
  • Ability to maintain discretion with patients.
  • Ability to organize and manage time effectively, setting appropriate priorities.
  • Ability to make independent decisions consistent with current policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, projecting a positive image of the organization in support of the Service Excellence expectations.
  • Ability to adapt hours of availability to variable needs of the care setting.
  • Ability to effectively function as a member of a collaborative team.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in the field of electroencephalography.
  • Experience in performance of Evoked Potential testing.
