About The Position

The Mount Sinai Health System is recruiting for a dynamic, collaborative clinician-researcher or clinician-educator to join our current team of seven neurointensivists. The Division of Neurocritical Care oversees two Neurosciences ICUs and cares for a wide range of neurologically injured patients. The Mount Sinai Hospital NSICU is a state of the art 16-bed unit with a focus on complex neurovascular and skull base surgeries. A major renovation of our Upper East Side campus is underway scheduled to be completed in 2028. This will see the NSICU footprint expand from 16 to 23 beds with a focus on integrating technologies meaningfully for patient and family centered care, a state-of-the-art conference room and private facilities for family members. The NSICU located at Mount Sinai West is a 14-bed ICU with a special focus on the management of ICH, epilepsy, and movement disorders. In addition to ICU care, the neurocritical care team oversees the management and transfer of over 1000 neurologic emergency cases per year across our health system. The division boasts a dually accredited neurocritical care fellowship program and has educational and research conferences fully integrated between campuses. Our robust research program spanning NIH and industry sponsored multicenter clinical trials, investigator-initiated studies, the Dangayach (Neuroemergencies Management and Transfers) NEMAT lab are supported by research infrastructure via the Department of Neurosurgery and Institute of Critical Care Medicine (ICCM). Over the next decade, the neurocritical care team is poised to expand into other Mount Sinai system hospitals and seeks a promising faculty member to grow their career with us.

Requirements

Medical Degree from an Accredited University
New York Medical License
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neurology
Fellowship training in Neurocritical Care
Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary setting
A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance-driven Health System

Leadership opportunities for programs in intra-operative electrophysiological monitoring, transcranial doppler, clinical research, and education.
Active faculty involvement in the ICCM Global Critical Care Program working in low-income countries to improve the delivery of critical care.
