In accordance with professional standards of care and adhering to the corporate philosophy of OSFMG, the advanced practice nurse/physician assistant is responsible for providing high-quality patient care to OSF patients. This role involves exposure to a broad range of acute and complex neurological cases, primarily within inpatient neurocritical care. Key duties include comprehensive neurological assessments, daily rounding, histories and physicals, new consults, admissions, and discharges. The provider will perform procedures in collaboration with neurocritical care intensivists, prepare patients for surgery, manage postoperative care, and facilitate smooth care transitions. They will also develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with attending neurocritical care intensivists. The position operates within a collaborative work environment alongside neurocritical care intensivists, residents, other advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams. Additional responsibilities include maintaining the consistency and quality of all services provided, ensuring full and current patient medical records, and assisting in cost management while upholding a high level of quality care.
