About The Position

The Neuro/ICU Staff Nurse role is a 36-hour night position within a 20-bed Intensive Care Unit specializing in neurosciences, serving both neurology and neurosurgery service lines at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH). BWH is recognized nationally for its Neurology and Neurosurgery departments. The Registered Nurse is a licensed professional responsible for planning and delivering patient care for assigned patients, adhering to established Nursing Standards of Care. This role requires initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills to manage patients with complex needs, taking full responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, reporting to a designated nurse manager or supervisor.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts.
  • For newly licensed nurses, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required.
  • 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience required.
  • Able to work weekend rotation per the MNA contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Critical care nursing experience preferred.
  • Neuroscience nursing experience preferred.
  • Membership in professional organizations is recommended.
  • Certification in a specialty area is encouraged.
