About The Position

Technica Corporation is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, self-directed individual to fill the Air Force Base Infrastructure Modernization (BIM) Test Engineer position. This position supports the verification, validation, integration, and operational acceptance of the mission-critical BIM program. The selected candidate will plan, develop, execute, document, and report test activities for modernized base network infrastructure, including Juniper EVPN-VXLAN IP fabric, Aruba/HPE wireless infrastructure, network cybersecurity controls, Zero Trust-aligned segmentation, network management services, and centralized operations capabilities. The Test Engineer will work with network engineers, systems architects, cybersecurity engineers, wireless engineers, operations teams, OEM partners, and Government stakeholders to ensure the modernized network design is tested against functional, performance, cybersecurity, resiliency, operational, and mission assurance requirements before deployment and transition to operations.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ related experience.
  • Experience developing formal test plans, test procedures, test cases, test reports, verification matrices, discrepancy reports, and acceptance documentation.
  • Hands-on experience testing enterprise networks, including routing, switching, VLANs, VRFs, ACLs, QoS, redundancy, failover, network management, and secure access.
  • Must have the applicable DCWF DoD/Military training required for this DCWF-aligned work role, or one active certification from the following: CCSP, CEH, CFR, Cloud+, CND, GSEC, Network+, PenTest+, Security+, SSCP
  • Prior experience designing, developing, and implementing testing methods and equipment.
  • Familiarization with DoD implementations, including cybersecurity standards, risk management framework, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), DoD PKI and certificate frameworks, and ATO.
  • Experience coordinating test activities across engineering, cybersecurity, operations, vendors, and Government stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years’ experience working on Department of Air Force (DAF) programs and/or knowledge of DAF-relevant projects.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the program’s test strategy, test plans, test cases, test procedures, test scripts, test reports, and requirements verification artifacts.
  • Support qualification testing of the modernized network architecture, including EVPN-VXLAN underlay/overlay behavior, BGP EVPN control plane, VRF/VNI segmentation, ECMP forwarding, redundancy, failover, and fault isolation.
  • Plan and execute test events for wired network infrastructure, including interface validation, routing, switching, VLAN/VRF/VNI mapping, QoS, secure management access, logging, telemetry, and configuration compliance.
  • Support wireless test activities, including access point coverage, controller/mobility gateway resiliency, SSID configuration, WPA2/WPA3 enterprise authentication, seamless roaming, WIDS capabilities, RF performance, and wired/wireless policy integration.
  • Develop test cases for Zero Trust-aligned network access, including identity-based access control, 802.1X, MAB, certificate-based authentication, role-based access control, endpoint posture enforcement, and dynamic segmentation via NAC/AAA platforms.
  • Validate cybersecurity and compliance controls, including DISA STIG configuration checks, RMF/ATO evidence support, vulnerability remediation verification, FIPS-aligned secure protocols, PKI/CAC authentication, audit logging, access control, and management-plane protection.
  • Create test traceability matrices mapping requirements to verification methods, test procedures, results, evidence, discrepancies, and closure status.
  • Document test results, defects, anomalies, risks, root-cause findings, corrective actions, retest results, and final acceptance recommendations.
  • Coordinate test schedules, dependencies, entry/exit criteria, Government witness testing, and formal review packages with program management and technical leads.
  • Plan and arrange the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.
  • Implement the testing processes and ensure that all test activities follow them.
  • Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics.
  • Monitors for continual test process improvement through failure analysis, throughput analysis, yield analysis, and reports to management periodically.
