About The Position

Morris Technology Solutions is seeking a Junior Network Engineer to support a large scale network migration project for a leading healthcare organization in the Worcester, MA area. This is a hands on role supporting the migration of devices from a legacy network environment to a new enterprise network. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, comfortable working with network hardware, and enjoys collaborating with engineers, vendors, and technical teams to complete infrastructure projects.

Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure, desktop support, networking, or a related technical field.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts including switches, patch panels, structured cabling, and TCP/IP.
• Experience working with network hardware or supporting infrastructure projects.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift and move network equipment and work in equipment rooms as needed.
• Must be local to the Worcester, MA area.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience supporting network refresh or migration projects.
• Experience working with Cisco or other enterprise networking equipment.
• Experience providing smart hands support in a data center, healthcare, or enterprise environment.
• Associate's degree or technical training in Information Technology, Networking, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Support the migration of network connected devices from the legacy network to the new enterprise network.
• Assist engineers and project teams with network migration activities.
• Install, remove, and organize patch cables between switches and patch panels.
• Disconnect and remove legacy network hardware as part of infrastructure modernization efforts.
• Assist with equipment installation, rack work, and physical network infrastructure tasks.
• Coordinate with internal teams and third party vendors to ensure successful migration activities.
• Follow project documentation, migration plans, and established procedures.
• Document completed work and communicate project status to the appropriate teams.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment while working in network closets and equipment rooms.
